The UTPA has been keeping busy the last month. Here is a review of what we’ve been up to.
We ended October with our annual Halloween Party which we hope you all had fun at. We were able to create new friendships with IUSCA (Italian Undergraduate Student Canadian Association).
On November 6th, together with OLAS, we welcomed roughly 35 high school students who expressed interest in pursuing post secondary education at the University of Toronto. We were lucky to have Dr. Manuela Marujo as our keynote speaker. Along with students from both student groups we also had the presence of Miguel Marques Dias, a member of Luso-Can Tuna who spoke to the students about extra curricular activities and about the importance of continuing portuguese traditions such as the tuna so far from our native land. Students were able to ask questions, tour the campus, sit in on a university lecture and enjoy some rissois and empanadas.
Just this past Monday, on November 11, the UTPA walked over to the Canadian Blood Services on Yonge St and donated blood. This gave us an opportunity to show how thankful we are for our health and also as a way to honour the heroes of our country.
We have many more events planned to make this year a meaningful one. If you are not yet on our mailing list and would like to receive our emails please send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
